OSCE Chairman-in-Office meets Moldavian Acting President and PM

CHISINAU. April 2. KAZINFORM /Rassul Bakhamov/ OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev has met with Acting President, Speaker of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu as well as with Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat.

At the meeting with Mihai Ghimpu there was discussed a wide spectrum of cooperation of Moldova with the OSCE and issues connected with development of bilateral relations with Kazakhstan.

As Ambassador-at-Large - Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for Protracted Conflicts Bolat Nurgaliyev informed, in the course of negotiations of Kanat Saudabayev with Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat the sides agreed that there are accumukated various issues on trade-econmic complex. There are many promising directions for companies of Moldova and opportunities for the Kazakh business operations, including in the agrarian sector. Taking into account unrealized potential the issue of holding meetings at the level of prime ministers of the two countries is pressed. Hence it is expected that Vladimir Filat will pay a working visit to Kazakhstan this year.

One of the main issues of negotiations was discussion of the Transnistrian conflict. The Moldavian politicians estimated the current development of the Transnistrian conflict in terms of a new coalition which has recently come to power in the country and expressed readiness to have a dialog with Tiraspol.
