OSCE Centre in Astana to conclude seminar on local self-governance

This training-seminar will be held in Akmola region for mayors of rural and small town municipalities on three major aspects of local self-governance - legal framework and mechanisms; financial and economic framework and tools; ways and means to enhance the involvement of local citizens in the decision making and development processes. Trainees will be presented a printed version of a guide for rural and small town mayors developed by OSCE-supported national experts. The seminar is the last in a series of five events this year and it follows Centre's activities in supporting Kazakhstan in promoting good governance and democratization, the OSCE Centre in Astana said.
