Oman’s Maaden International Investment, a fund fully owned by the Sultanate’s government, is the company’s largest shareholder, with a 31.7 percent stake.

The delegation also included Hamed Al Naamany, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Mattar Al Badi, Chief Executive Officer of Minerals Development Oman (MDO), which is Solidcore’s joint venture partner in the Khabiyat copper-gold property. The project, signed in July, is the first joint international exploration initiative involving the two companies in Oman.

Al Murshidi described Solidcore as Oman’s flagship investment project in Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of a stable and predictable investment climate.

“We view Kazakhstan as a long-term strategic partner. We believe that the stable and predictable investment environment created through the leadership of the President, and the Government’s efforts and protection of sovereign investments, are fundamental for long-term cooperation. We are committed to supporting Solidcore’s growth and expanding our investments in the country. The recently signed Agreement on Investment Cooperation between our two countries marks an important step in identifying new investment opportunities between Oman and Kazakhstan,” he said.

The delegation then toured the Kyzyl operation, Solidcore’s largest mine. The mine produces around 350,000 ounces of gold annually, with an average grade of 5 grams per ton.

The visit also highlighted potential opportunities for Solidcore to expand its expertise and operations internationally. Al Murshidi said the company’s experience in ore processing and responsible mining could support future projects beyond Kazakhstan.

“Solidcore’s deep expertise in ore processing and responsible mining provides a strong foundation for prospective joint projects in Oman, the Gulf region and potentially Africa. These opportunities will support the Company’s evolution into an international mining company, building on its technical capabilities, quality assets, strong governance, and experienced team,” concluded Al Murshidi.

Earlier, Qazinform reported Kazakhstan and Oman sign an agreement to accelerate bilateral investment.
