For the first time athletes run not in the main stadium athletics track but on the streets of the left bank of Astana leading to the "Baiterek" monument, the press service of the Department of Tourism, Physical Education and Sports reports.

Olympic Day Run organized jointly with the Astana administration and the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan has involved more than 2 million people. Only two distances were chosen by the organizers for races. Those who ran 800 meters, started before the "Keruen" SEC and those who were going to cover the distance of 2,400 meters, starting from the "Khan Shatyr" shopping center. In both cases the finish was in the square in front of the "Baiterek" monument.

It should be noted that the Olympic motto "The main thing is not to win but to participate" is the main slogan of the Olympic Day Run and, therefore, each participant received a certificate of participation in the ODR. In addition, prizes were awarded to the best old aged and the youngest participants of the race. A 65-year-old Ameulsin Mirosinasenko participated in the mass race and proved that the sport is relevant in any age. This was also confirmed by a four-year-old runner Umar Hamidolla and a three-year-old Talgatbek Hamza.

Sports festival has turned colorful and memorable and once again proved that Astana is considered one of the most athletic cities of Kazakhstan.
