OIC Sec Gen congratulates Kazakhstanis on successful holding of early parliamentary elections
ASTANA. January 18. KAZINFORM At the invitation of the Kazakh Central Election Commission a delegation of observes from the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Conference together with a group of observers, consisting of three persons, from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan monitored the early parliamentary elections held on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
The delegation members visited various polling stations in large districts of Astana and observed all phases of the voting. They note a high voter turnout, the voting was held in a cal atmosphere, without any violations.
OIC Secretary General, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expresses satisfaction with the process of conducting the elections and congratulates the people of Kazakhstan on the interest in promotion of the national unity and participation in strengthening democratic institutions of the country.
