Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiative on developing new document called ‘Maastricht plus’ backed by OSCE
ASTANA. July 1. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ - Nursultan Nazarbayev's initiative regarding developing a new document called 'Maastricht plus' was approved by the OSCE. Coordinator of the OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities Goran Svilanovich said at the third Astana Economic Forum.
'Madrid document is a very important document for the OSCE and development of 'Maastricht plus' will give an impetus for the whole economic and environmental dimension of the OSCE that I represent. The OSCE Secretary General approved your President's initiative. We hope that till the end of the year we will have developed such document', G. Svilanovich said.
The development of 'Maastricht plus' document was proposed by the President of Kazakhstan as a medium and long term guide for economic development. It should include all the details of post-crisis economic realities in the OSCE area.
