Nursultan Nazarbayev initiative to establish CICMA has shown its feasibility - Ambassador of China

This opinion was expressed by China's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Le Yuychen during the seminar "Security and Cooperation in Asia", dedicated to the forthcoming summit of CICMA in Shanghai.

"The initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to establish CICMA, voiced at the 47th session of the UN General Assembly, October 5, 1992, demonstrated its feasibility. Today, the CICMA has a great impact on regional stability and security. Recent decades China together with Kazakhstan actively participated in these processes. Chinese President Xi Jinping looks forward to meeting with Nursultan Nazarbayev on the sidelines of the summit, which will be held May 21-22 in Shanghai. The Presidents will discuss important issues of bilateral cooperation in the framework of CICMA", said the Ambassador of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to his words, the upcoming summit will be the biggest in the history of the CICMA. The forum will be attended by representatives of 40 countries including heads of states and governments, as well as heads of international organizations. On the agenda are the regional security issues and the discussion of mechanisms to establish a so-called "new security concept".

The seminar in Astana was attended by heads of accredited diplomatic missions in the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, as well as the faculty and students of the Kazakh State Humanitarian juridical University.

Recall that China took the chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia for the period from 2014 to 2016 from Turkey.
