Nursultan Nazarbayev and Barack Obama discuss topical issues of the international agenda
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - On the sidelines of the 3d Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with the United States President Barack Obama.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the issues of further strengthening of bilateral trade and economic relations, the press service of Akorda reports. Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that about 300 joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan which demonstrates dynamic cooperation in trade and economic spheres. According to the President's words, the United States is one of the largest investors in the country's economy.
The President stressed that our country is interested in active participation of the U.S. companies in the program of industrial-innovative development.
In addition, the negotiations also addressed the issue of Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO.
Obama noted the great contribution of Kazakhstan to nuclear disarmament. Barack Obama also expressed his gratitude for Kazakhstan's assistance in the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan.
