'Nur Otan' nominates N. Nazarbayev as presidential candidate
ASTANA. February 11. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The initiative on nominating Chairman of the Nur Otan Party Nursultan Nazarbayev as presidential candidate was proposed at the 13th congress of the Nur Otan Party being held in Astana.
Rector of the Shakarim State Medical University of Semey, head of the initiative group for holding of the national referendum to extend powers of the incumbent President of Kazakhstan Erlan Sydykov voiced this opinion.
'I am confident that by means of this proposal I express the will of all the members of the party. More than five million signatures collected in support of the referendum proved that people of Kazakhstan wanted the Leader of the Nation to stay in power, E. Sydykov added.
The proposal was supported by applause.
