Number of religious crimes grows in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The rate of religious extremism related crimes is growing in Kazakhstan, director of the forensic investigation center of the Ministry of Justice of Kazakhstan Isidor Borchashvili told at the ceremony of signing memorandums in the ministry.

"Our research shows that there is growth of religious extremism related crimes in Kazakhstan," he noted.

"Speaking in the context of the regions, five regions of Kazakhstan have religious expert studies. 133 religious investigations were held in 2014 and the first quarter of 2015, 115 - in Astana, 82 - in Almaty, 29 - in East Kazakhstan region and 26 investigations were held in West Kazakhstan region," he specified.
