"Now Kazakhstan has 3,244 religious buildings, most of which are mosques - 2 320. We believe that the number of places of worship, as a whole, corresponds with the needs of the faithful. So now, in contrast to previous years, the decision to build places of worship should be made carefully, taking into consideration all necessary factors, in particular, needs of the population, presence of other religious buildings, their contents and capabilities of others, "- said K.Lama Sharif.

In his report, the Chairman of the Agency also noted that the most important priority was to streamline the practice of worship, assembly, including outside places of worship. This has been made possible as a result of implementing the standard public services on issuance of the decision on construction of religious buildings and definition of their location, as well as conversion of buildings into places of worship.
