Number of people with HIV reaches 1,670 in Almaty rgn
TALDYKORGAN. November 18. KAZINFORM - On October 1, 2013 the Almaty region recorded 1,670 HIV -infected patients. Over the same period of 2012 there were 1,403 of such cases.
Among the currently registered there are dominating people aged 30-39.
As for the socio-occupational structure out of 1,670 reported cases 56.5 % of them are unemployed people.
Most people with HIV were infected through injecting drugs or sexual contact.
In order to prevent November 19, 2013 in the city of Shymkent among university students there will take place a campaign, organized by the regional AIDS center, and it will be dedicated to the World AIDS Campaign. The epidemiologists will conduct surveys, they will show the film titled "With a face and without a face. A touch". Information and educational materials will be distributed, as well as the means of contraception, and there will be held an optional test on HIV infection.
