Number of disabled children increased in Astana
ASTANA. July 16. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ "Astana Association of Disabled Children " Public Union has launched project "Parents - SOS Territory" aimed at rendering assistance to disabled children and their parents; Kazinform correspondent reports.
The project has recently won a grant at fair of social ideas "Health of Nation - Welfare of Kazakhstan" under the First President of Kazakhstan and International Institute for Modern Policy.
"We want to support the parents with the help of different psychological trainings and law seminars. Free consultations of jurists and psychologists will be organized within the project", - Project Coordinator Aigul Bulatova.
According to Chairman of the Union Kamka Zhassanova there about 1 200 disabled children under 18 in the capital. Two years ago there were 960 disabled children.
"Astana Disabled Children Association" has been working for 10 years. The Organization was created by parents of disabled children. At present over 500 families are under its patronage.
