Norwegian ship with 6 crew sunk off Sweden
MOSCOW. August 1. KAZINFORM. A Norwegian-registered cargo ship with six Russian and Ukrainian crew sank in a heavy storm in the North Sea off Sweden on Friday; Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
A helicopter and five vessels arrived at the possible wreck site several kilometers off Sweden's coast to find life vests, rafts and debris from the ship, but no crewmembers. Rescuers are continuing to search for survivors.
The Langeland sent an emergency signal in the morning but had since lost contact. The radio operator said the ship was listing and about to sink, Russia's Morskoi Bulleten (Maritime Bulletin) reported.
