North Korean defence minister executed, South Korea's intelligence says

TOKYO. KAZINFORM - South Korea's National Intelligence Service claims that North Korea has executed its chief of People's Armed Forces, Hyon Yong-chol, for falling asleep at a military event attended by leader Kim Jong Un.

The minister, appointed to the post in June 2014, was immediately dismissed and accused of treason, the Yonhap news agency reported. According to the report, Hyon Yong-chol was executed by firing squad using an anti-aircraft gun, TASS reports.
