North Kazakhstani kickboxer Azamat Nurpeisov won 'silver' at the World Championship in Turkey
Petropavlovsk. December 12. KAZINFORM - North Kazakhstani athlete Azamat Nurpeisov, who won the silver medal at the world Kickboxing championship in Italy and is champion of Asia and Kazakhstan, successfully performed at the world championship in kickboxing (WAKO) in Turkey, replicating his Italian success four years ago, the press-service of N.Kazakhstan physical culture and sports departure reports.
Azamat was warmly met at the train station in his homwtown of Petropavlovsk by the president of the regional federation of boxing and kickboxing, first deputy mayor Aidarbek Saparov, head of the physical culture and sports department Ruslan Esenalin, relatives and friends.
The World Kickboxing Championship was held in Antalya, Turkey. Azamat Nurpeisov for the first time participated in it in the new weight class - 81 kg . At such a prestigious tournament, the athlete took the second place winning a silver medal. "I dedicate my victory to Kazakhstan's independence," - said Petropavlovsk kickboxer.
"1 100 athletes from 69 countries took part in the World Championship. Kazakhstan kickboxing team for the first time in its history, was second in the overall performance. Six athletes got into the finals, we have four gold, two silver and four bronze medals,"- Adil Nurzhaupov, the head coach N.Kazakhstan kickboxing team, said.
25 athletes performed in Azamat Nurpeisov's weight category. The North Kazakhstani athlete had five fights, of which he won four. "All the fights were difficult, - Azamat Nurpeisov admits. - And the most difficult, as usual, were the first and the last ones."
"I am a military servicemen of RK and this great responsibility gives additional strength, - said Azamat Nurpeisov. - I am proud to serve my country and have the opportunity to glorify it at the world sports arena."
