No violations at Kazakh Senate deputies election - Azerbaijani CEC
ASTANA. KAZINFORM The election of deputies of the Senate (the upper chamber of the Parliament) of Kazakhstan has been carried out without any violations, representatives of the CEC of Azerbaijan said.
"We have witnessed an open, transparent and democratic electoral process. I can confidently say that we have not noticed any violations that could affect the election results. Therefore, I can only congratulate the people of Kazakhstan and the election organizers on the successful holding of them," the deputy chairman of the CEC of Azerbaijan Natig Mammadov said, Trend reports. Election of deputies of the Senate of Kazakhstan is held every 3 years. One candidate is elected from each region, as well as Astana and Almaty. There are some 47 deputies in the upper house of the Parliament, 15 of them are appointed by the president, 32 - maslikhats (local representative bodies). Senate deputies are elected for six years. Every three years, some 16 senators are re-elected. The previous election of deputies of the Senate was 2011.
