No extradition without confirmation of the criminal status - Russian General Prosecutor's Office
ASTANA. May 26. KAZINFORM "The Russian General Prosecutor' s Office has not received confirmation of the criminal status of the former head of the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan Anar Meshimbayeva for her extradition from the Kazakh side," correspondent of TV program "Analytics" at the ORT Eurasia TV Channel reported.
"The General Prosecutor's Office of Russia informed the official status of Mrs. Meshimbayeva including the necessary documents for her extradition were not provided by the Kazakh side," the correspondent says.
As reported earlier, A.Meshimbaeva was put on the international wanted list by law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and on this basis detained by the Russian Interior Ministry. Now she is in the territory of the Russian Federation.
A. Meshimbayeva is accused of involvement in the embezzlement of public funds in the amount of KZT 764 million that were allocated for the second national census.
Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office reported that the former public person is in the United Arab Emirates, and the domestic law enforcement agencies could not agree on the issue of Meshimbayeva's extradition. Before the arraignment, she had headed to the statistical department for nearly three years.
