No contradiction between hydrocarbon production and green economy, Kazakh Minister

ASTANA. May 4. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ "There is no contradiction between hydrocarbon production and green economy," Kazakh Environment Minister Nurgali Ashim told a press conference following the results of the session "Green growth - post-Kyoto prospects" held within the IV Astana Economic Forum "New decade: challenges and prospects".
Under the "Zhasyl Yel" (green land) programme and pursuant to the President's instructions the alternative source power generation increases by 3%. The point at issue is to make hydrocarbon production and processing the green economy too. New technologies let put carbon dioxide to use to plant seaweeds and use them then as organic fuel.
