New Zealand's observers: Elections in Kazakhstan fair, open and democratic

ASTANA. January 16. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ The elections in Kazakhstan comply with democratic norms and the country's election law. Alyn Ware, international observer from New Zealand, Director of the Peace Foundation's Wellington Office, has said.

The foreign guest shared his impressions on the election process in Astana. "I visited two polling states, in the first one we monitored the elections, in the second - monitored the counting of votes. We have no criticisms," Alyn Ware said.

"We see that your country strives for democratic way of development, including the parliamentary system of the multiparty type. Representatives of various ethnos and nationalities could be represented in the legislative body of Kazakhstan, and, in my opinion, it is an important part of the democratic process," he thinks.
