New York Film Academy opens its branch in Kazakhstan
The New York Film Academy (NYFA) branch becomes the third one opened outside the U.S. and the first creative world-class university unveiled in Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency cites the Science and Higher Education Ministry.
An online signing ceremony was held on March 1 at the Energo University platform involving Kazakh Science and Higher Education Minister Sayasat Nurbek and Michael J. Young, the President of New York Film Academy.
Education at the global film school will start this September 29 at its campus built in the creative industries park Energo University in Kaskelen town near Almaty.
First it will accept up to 200 students from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries of the region (China, India, Russia, etc.). They will receive NYFA diplomas and an opportunity to continue education in New York or Los Angeles.
Students will major in Filmmaking, Producing, Screenwriting, 3D animation & VFX and Game design as part of one-year or short programs.
