New waste landfill to be equipped with the second cell
ASTANA. November 7. KAZINFORM By the order of the Administration of natural resources, a contracting organization LLP "Astanavodservis" has started construction and installation works on the second cell of the new household solid waste landfill, Kazinform refers to astana.kz.
At the moment activities in this direction are divided into two stages. This information was shared with astana.kz in sustainment and infrastructure development department of Astana city akim's office.
The first stage provides for works to be completed by the end of the year on alkali pipelines and reservoirs construction, and taking up the trees in the area of the object construction from the northern side of the first cell of the landfill, along Alash highway. In addition to this, within this territory the landfill operator MUS "Astana Eco-Poligon NC" will perform land filling of the preformed waste.
Construction of this object is to be completed on the second stage in 2014.
In addition, in accordance with the decree of Astana city akimat, conservation of the old landfill territory was carried out, with the total area of 24 ha. Currently design specifications and estimates are being worked out for landfill reclamation which is to be started next year.
