New Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs will be responsible for coop with UN & America

ASTANA. December 14. KAZINFORM - Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov and the Assistant to the President Yerzhan Kazykhanov have announced the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Ashikbayev, the press service of the MFA reports.

"For us it is a great honor that on the eve of the Independence Day the Head of State has decided to appoint a new Deputy Minister", the Minister said.

Noting that the new Deputy Minister will oversee relations with the states of America as well as cooperation in a multilateral format of the UN, Mr. Idrissov stressed a high priority to promote Kazakhstan's bid for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018 and wished Ashikbayev success in his work.

In turn Yerzhan Ashikbayev said that he is "grateful to the President for high level of trust and will spare no effort to justify it".

Ashikbayev has been working in the Foreign Ministry since 1998. He worked at the Kazakh Embassy in Belgium, in the central apparatus of the Ministry as the Head of the Minister's office and as the chairman of the International Information Committee. His las position was the Head of the Center for Foreign Policy of the Presidential Administration.

Recall that according to the order of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev dated December 13, 2013, Yerzhan Ashikbayev was appointed as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
