New smelting plant of Kazchrome JSC to be launched Dec. 2013
ASTANA. July 2. KAZINFORM - Following the meeting at the construction site of Aktobe rail plant the Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev made acquainted with the construction of a new ferroalloy plant - plant number 4 Kazchrome JSC.
As it is known this project is included in the Republican Map of Industrialization. The design capacity is 440,000 tonnes of ferrochrome per year, the cost - KZT 111 billion, with the commissioning the company will create 500 new jobs.
According to the president of the company Victor Til, plant construction is up to the plan, and its launch is scheduled for December 2013.
As of July 1, 2013 for the construction have been disbursed KZT 88.5 billion.
Realization of the project will reduce the cost of production and increase the production of marketable high-carbon ferrochrome, including increased export potential for manufacturing high-carbon ferrochrome 16%, and the Aktobe region by 46%. Through extraction of chromium ferroalloys for redistribution will grow by 6%, labor productivity through innovation will increase by 3-4 times.
July 4 will start a new high-voltage line - "SS Ulke-GLP-2 AZF" 220 kV to provide external power supply for a new ferroalloy plant. Construction of the line has been fulfilled by "Batys transit" through public-private partnerships.
Minister of Industry and New Technologies Asset Issekeshev instructed to keep constant control of the timetable for building ferroalloy plant and ensure its timely commissioning.
The heads of government agencies and organizations mandated to provide full support to this project.
