New permanent representative of Kazakhstan to League of Arab States presents his credentials
Newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Askar Zhengis, held a meeting with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States (LAS) headquartered in Cairo, and presented him credentials as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the League of Arab States, Kazakh MFA reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current issues of cooperation, including the upcoming major international events.
Ambassador Zhengis also presented Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit an invitation on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, to participate in the Astana International Forum to be held on May 29-30, 2025, as well as an invitation by the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, to participate in the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions to be held in Astana on September 17-18 this year.
The League of Arab States is a sizable and esteemed international organization that brings together all of the Arab nations in North Africa and the Middle East. Kazakhstan was admitted as an observer to this organization in July 2009.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan and Germany had discussed cooperation on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
