KARABALIN UZAKBAI born on October 14, 1947 in Kosshagyl town of Atyrau region.

In 1970 graduated from Gubkin Moscow Institute of Oil and Gas, up to1973 he studied as post-graduate student.

PhD (Ufa Petroleum Institute, 1985), Honorary Professor KazNTU (2004)

Academician of the National Academy of Engineering of Kazakhstan in "Oil and gas drilling" (NIA RK, 2004).

1973-1974 — Applications Engineer on drilling in South Emba oil and gas prospecting expedition administration "Kazneftegazorazvedka"

1974-1981 - Head of laboratory of drilling technology and drilling fluids on Kazakh Research Institute study of Petroleum Geology Institute.

1981-1988 - Deputy Director for Science Kazakh Research Institute of Petroleum Geology Institute.

1988-1990 - Head of Development Technological progress and deep drilling of "Prikaspiygeologiya" main territorial administration

1990-1991 - Head of Department in Gurievsky branch KazPTI.

1991-1992 — Senior Manager of the Industry Department of the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

1992-1994 - Head of Main Department of Oil and Gas of Ministry for Energy and Fuel Resources.

1994-1997 - Deputy Minister for Energy and Fuel Resources, Deputy Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan.

1997-2000 - First Vice-President of "KazakhOil" NOC

2000-2001 - President of "KazTransGas".

2001-2003 - Vice-Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources.

2003-2008 - President of "NC" KazMunaiGas" JSC.

2008-2009 — Acting General Director of «MangystauMunaiGaz."
