New eight-lane road under construction in Astana
ASTANA. October 30. KAZINFORM - Astana is building a new eight-lane road that will connect the "left bank" and the city center, has said the head of passenger transport and highways of Astana Rashid Amanzholov. This bypass road will unload the car burden of the capital city. 90 thousand vehicles will run along the new highway per day.
"Eight-lane highway will connect Beysekova street, Kurgaldzhino motor highway, streets of Seifullin, Tlendiev and Akzhol, and thus uniting the left bank and the city center. The biggest problem was unloading a dense flow of vehicles on the avenues of Sary-Arka and Turan. Over 80 thousand vehicles pass the road during a day. The construction of a small bypass is aimed at solving this problem. Today it is possible to reduce the number of vehicles on the avenues of Sary-Arka and Turan to 30 thousand or 40%. At the same time all the trucks will travel on this road, which is about 4.5 thousand vehicles", said V.Amanzholov.
To date open is the movement of transport along the road from Kurgaldzhino highway to Seifullin street. The construction of the entire low-pass road is to be over the next year.
