New Airport offered to be built in Almaty rgn

TALDYKORGAN. KAZINFORM - A new airport is offered to be built in the village called Zhetygen in the Ili district of Almaty region, this was reported to Kazinform by the Deputy Akim of the region Amandyk Batalov.
According to his words about 2 hectares area was selected for the construction of a new airport in Zhetygen village. The area is located 48 km north-east and 4 km southeast of the city of Almaty. "This decision was made at the suggestion of Transport and Communications Ministry for ensuring safety of aviation and Almaty city population", said Batalov. Today there are four airports in the region: Almaty, Borolday, Bayserke, and Nikolayevka airports.
