Net int'l reserves increased by 2%, Kazakh chief banker
ALMATY. September 5. KAZINFORM "As preliminary figures indicate the gross international reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan increased by 2% August this year to reach USD 29.6 bln," chairman of the National Bank Grigory Marchenko told the traditional press conference in Almaty.
"Net currency reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan rose by USD 389.2 mln in August. The country's international reserves, including the foreign currency assets of the National Fund (according to preliminary data up to USD 54.3 bln) increased by 1.9% in August to stand at USD 83.8 bln (14.8 % growth since the beginning of the year).
Money multiplier grew from 3.01 in June to 3.59 at end of July due to the monetary expansion against shrinkage of the wide monetary base.
