Negotiations on Kazakhstan's accession to WTO held in Geneva

ASTANA. March 5. KAZINFORM Negotiations on Kazakhstan's accession to WTO has been held in Geneva today, the press service of Kazakh Ministry on Economic Integration said.

Kazakhstan has finished bilateral negotiations on access to the goods market with Argentina. Kazakh Minister for Economic Integration Zhanar Aitzhanova and Permanent Representative of Argentina to the WTO and to other international organizations in Geneva Alberto D'Alotto signed protocol on negotiations results.

The negotiations on the access to the market of goods and services with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been also completed. The signing of the protocol is scheduled for the second half of March in Riyadh. During the negotiations were discussed the following issues: customs duties for import of goods, which are of commercial interest for Saudi Arabia. 

Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia also reached an agreement on conditions of access for foreign companies to the Kazakhstan market of transport and energy services.

During the negotiations, the Kazakhstani delegation met with WTO Director General Pascal Lamy. During this meeting, he said priority of Kazakhstan's accession to the WTO, and assured that the Secretariat would provide  support and assistance on completion of the negotiations till the end of this year.
