Necessary to speed up gas pipelines construction: President Nazarbayev

ASTANA. January 23. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed CEO of "Samruk-Kazyna" National Welfare Fund Umirzak Shukeyev to speed up the provision of the population with natural gas.
"With the development of Karachaganak and Kashagan deposits, Kazakhstan will see increase in natural gas production. Hence, it is important to speed up the construction of main gas pipelines providing stable gas supply in the country," N. Nazarbayev told the Government's meeting on Wednesday, devoted to results of the year 2012 and the implementation of the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy.
In his words, CEO of the "Samruk-Kazyna" NWF is to make sure that construction of the Tobol-Kokshetau-Astana gas pipeline starts this year.
