'Nazi art' hoarder dies aged 81

LONDON. KAZINFORM Cornelius Gurlitt, the German who was found to have hoarded more than 1,400 works of art in his Munich apartment, has died, German media are reporting.

Two years ago he was found to have a priceless collection including works by Picasso, Chagall and Matisse.

Many of the paintings had been stolen by the Nazis. Cornelius Gurlitt was the son of Adolf Hitler's art dealer Hildebrand Gurlitt, BBC News reports.

Mr Gurlitt, 81, had been seriously ill following major heart surgery.
