Nazarbayev visited Kazakh-Turkish lyceum in Astana
TANA. September 1. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has taken part in a celebratory assembly of the Astana Kazakh-Turkish lyceum Nur Orda on September 1.
The President was accompanied by Education and Science Minister Bakytzhan Zhumagulov and Astana Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov.
Nursultan Nazarbayev visited a 5th-grade classroom and observed a history lesson dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
Nur Orda is a private lyceum. It was opened in 2007. The school curriculum has additional subjects like logic, chess, and mathematics for fun in 1st -2nd grade, computer class in 3rd grade, Turkish language in 5th grade and Chinese language in 9th grade. Starting with 8th grade all natural and mathematical sciences are taught in English.
This year 1,020 students will study at the lyceum.
