Nazarbayev urges government officials to root out corruption

ASTANA. October 17. KAZINFORM At the meeting with the Corps A civil servants on Thursday, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev urged those present not to be afraid of corrupt officials.
"I am talking about the fight against corruption. It is an indispensable and important part of our work. There are bribe-takers and we know it," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
He stressed that 'it is impossible to root out corruption, if we are scared of those who take bribes and 'torture' ordinary people in the provinces.' The Kazakh leader reminded of a special website, where one can leave a complaint.
The President also mentioned that Corps A government officials will get a 50% wage increase in 2014.
