Nazarbayev University and Al-Farabi Kazakh Nat'l University to collaborate

The agreement includes cooperation in various fields, including the exchange of experience among the faculty of both universities.

"Over the period of its existence, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has proved that it is one of the best universities in Kazakhstan, it educated not only well-known scholars, as well as prominent political and public figures. We hope that today's signing of the memorandum will allow faculty lecturers to teach at the KNU and as well as engage in various research studies, "said Nazarbayev University President Shigeo Katsu at a ceremony in Astana.

As stated by him, in addition, the Nazarbayev University plans to provide the KNU with "experience for developing a modernized system of education."

"Of course it is, first of all, the autonomy of the educational institution, which is one of our main principles. Therefore, we hope that our cooperation will be mutually beneficial. We are a new university, despite of all our status, we need to advance further, learn and share experience with other universities of Kazakhstan ", - added Sh.Katsu.

"Nazarbayev University is only 3 years old, however, there has been already collected a good basis and advanced world experience, so we are interested in mutual cooperation and implementation of those innovations that have been established here. Of course, with almost 80 years of existence, the KNU has developed its own traditions, but we have to combine them with innovation, " said the rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Galim Mutanov.
