Nazarbayev to deliver speech at CICA summit in Shanghai
BEIJING. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan President will deliver a speech at the IV Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Cooperation in Central Asia (CICA) in Shanghai on May 21, and hold a number of bilateral meetings, this has been announced in Beijing during the press conference by the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry of China Cheng Guoping.
"After the state visit of the Chinese leader in September 2013 in Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev's meeting with Xi Jinping in Shanghai will be the third in a row this year. Prior to that, they met in the framework of international events in Sochi and The Hague. These meetings are important for deepening Sino-Kazakh relationships", said Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of China Cheng Guoping. President's speech at the opening of IV CICA Summit in Shanghai will be live broadcasted over China Central Television - CCTV. As expected, IV CICA summit will be attended by representatives of 46 countries and international organizations including 11 heads of states and 2 heads of governments, as well as 10 heads of international organizations. Presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and the prime ministers of Cambodia and Iraq will arrive in Shanghai to participate in the summit. Chinese President Xi Jinping will open the IV CICA Summit and deliver a welcome speech. During the summit, China will take the CICA chairmanship for 2014-2016 from Turkey. It bears to remind that May 19-21 President of Kazakhstan will pay a state visit to China and attend the IV Summit of the CICA. The CICA top-level meeting will debate the pressing issues of strengthening stability and regional security.
