Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan hopes to finalize talks on enhanced partnership with EU under Luxembourg presidency
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has met today with Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel who is in the Kazakh capital for the 8th Astana Economic Forum, the Akorda's press service reports.
During the meeting, utmost attention was paid to strengthening of cooperation between the two countries as well as deeper partnership between Kazakhstan and the EU as Luxembourg is set to assume presidency for the Council of the European Union this year. The Head of State reminded that Kazakhstan and the EU completed talks on the draft Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation last year. "I hope that under your presidency all necessary procedures will be finished. Given the friendly relations between our countries, we count on your support in solution of several issues with the EU, such as simplified visa regime, lifting restrictions in aviation sphere," Nursultan Nazarbayev said. The sides stressed the importance of further deepening of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg in the interests of the two nations.
