Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan should further develop trade, political and cultural ties

The parties noted dynamic development of bilateral relations in various spheres and restated readiness to develop further all-round cooperation. As the Kazakh Leader noted, Turkmenistan is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan. The two countries realize joint international projects called to strengthen mutual relations and benefit both nations. In particular, N. Nazarbayev highlighted importance of the Uzen-Bereket-Gorgan trunk railroad. "Turkmenistan as a close neighbor is of great importance for Kazakhstan. The sales between the countries have increased by 38% in 2014 due to laying the new railway running through Kazakhstan andTurkmenistan. I think we should apply every effort to boost trade, political and cultural ties," the President said. The Head of State also highlighted the affinity of positions of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on international policy issues.
