Nazarbayev holds meetings with heads of some states in Washington

WASHINGTON-ASTANA. April 14. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev held meetings with heads of a number of states who participated in the Nuclear Security Summit.

As the President's press service reports, the Head of the State negotiated with US Vice President Joseph Biden, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano.

As earlier informed, the Kazakh President held meetings with King of Jordan Abdullah II, President of the French Republic Nicolas Sarkozy, Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama.

At the meeting with King Abdullah II there were discussed the issues of development of the Kazakh-Jordanian trade-economic cooperation and interaction. The course of the Washington Summit was on the focus of attention of the leaders of the two countries as well.

At the meeting with Nicolas Sarkozy there were considered the issues on expansion of the Kazakh-French interaction on all directions of mutual interest, implementation of agreements reached during the French President's visit to Kazakhstan. Exchange of opinions on the issues of the agenda of the Nuclear Security Summit, preparation for holding the OSCE Summit and other aspects of international relations was held.

The current status and prospects of relations between Kazakhstan and Japan were discussed at the meeting with Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama.
