Nazarbayev holds meetings on the sidelines on NSS in The Hague

THE HAGUE. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the 3rd Nuclear Security Summit in The Hague today.

At the meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the sides debated key directions of Kazakhstan's activities within the UN global programs and relevant issues of the international agenda. With IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano President Nazarbayev touched upon issues, included into the agenda of the summit. The sides also exchanged views on Kazakhstan's initiatives within the IAEA and its participation in the promotion of nuclear security and non-proliferation principles. During the meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif utmost attention was paid to the development of bilateral cooperation in commercial and economic as well as scientific and technical spheres. Issues of regional security were in the focus of the meeting as well. President Nazarbayev and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev exchange views on the development of bilateral relations in commercial, investment and energy sectors. Interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations and state of regional security were also discussed by the two leaders in The Hague.
