Nazarbayev debated World Anti-Crisis Conference initiative provisions with the UN reps
ASTANA. May 23. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the VI Astana Economic Forum held a meeting with representatives of the United Nations, reports the press-service of the President.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the 67th session of the UN General Assembly Vuk Jeremic, the chairman of the Economic and Social Council of the UN Nestor Osorio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of the Fiji Islands, the chairman of the Group of 77 and China R.Kubuabola, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for Economic and Social Affairs U.Hunbo, Secretary-General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development UNCTAD S.Panitchpakdi, UN Deputy Secretary - Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) S.Alkalay and Chief Economist and Director of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) N.Kumar.
During the talks the sides discussed key prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the departments and agencies of the United Nations.
The meeting also discussed the main provisions of the initiative of Kazakhstan to the World Anti-Crisis conference where representatives of different countries could jointly discuss the draft global plan of reform. It was noted that this step was timely in light of the current global events.
In this regard, the Head of State thanked the United Nations for support and trust to hold such an important and responsible activity in Astana.
