Nazarbayev and Atambayev held talks
BISHKEK. August 22. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev paid a state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic for the first time for 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
The President of Kazakhstan was met at the airport by his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev. After the official ceremony the two leaders held a meeting in narrow format.
Then, at a meeting in an enlarged format the sides planned the third meeting of the Supreme Council of the Interstate Council.
It is expected that the outcome of the meetings will be the signing of a jubilee declaration on deepening strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the decision of the Supreme Interstate Council on the adoption of measures on cooperation of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic for 2012-2015, the decision on the convocation of the Inter-Parliamentary Council of the Supreme Interstate Council, the Protocol amending the agreement between the two governments on the establishment of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz investment fund from July 11, 2007.
Tomorrow, the President of Kazakhstan will take part in the Second Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States.
