National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 to be presented in Almaty
ALMATY. September 17. KAZINFORM. National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 will be presented in the Al Farabi Kazakh State University in Almaty on September 19; the university's press service told Kazinform.
As is known the Action Plan was approved by the President of Kazakhstan on May 5, 2009 and received positive estimate of the international and national experts on human rights. It is the first ever National human Rights Action Plan in the countries of Central Asia, Middle East and Eastern Europe. The Action Plan was published in the Kazakh, Russian and English languages under the technical support of the UNDP, embassy of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and embassy of the UK in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The document includes the analysis of the national legislation and law enforcement practice as to the compliance with the international standards on human rights. It provides with the main directions of foreign and internal policy in the sphere of human rights.
Representatives of the UN Development Program, heads of the state bodies, human rights protection organizations, international organization and diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan and many others will take part in the presentation.
