National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 presented in Karaganda
KARAGANDA. October 23. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ The National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 has been presented in the regional branch of the Nur Otan People's Democratic Party in Karaganda.
The members of the working group presented the document. Heads of the state bodies, representatives of NGO, international organizations, advocacy, notary office, education, science and culture facilities, entrepreneurs and journalists attended it.
It was noted that for the first time there was developed the National Human Rights Action Plan in Central Asian, Middle East and Eastern Europe. "This document was elaborated on the instruction of the Kazakh President and was positively evaluated by international organizations. The Plan consists of specific recommendations and activities on further modernization of human rights mechanisms in accordance with the Kazakhstan Constitution and international standards", Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, Majilisman Saginbek Tursunov emphasized.
Elaboration of the National Human Rights Action Plan is one more step on the way of Kazakhstan's formation as a legal and democratic state, Karaganda region Governor Nurlan Nigmatulin announced. "This document will have big significance for Karaganda oblast, where dozens of NGOs function", the Governor said.
