National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 presented in Astana
ANA. September 9. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ National Human Rights Action Plan for 2009-2012 has been presented in Astana.
The document includes the analysis of the national legislation and law enforcement practice as to the compliance with the international standards on human rights. It provides with the main directions of foreign and internal policy in the sphere of human rights.
"Promotion and protection of human rights can not be realized apart from the world practice. This fact is a reason of Kazakhstan's decision to join the UN conventions and agreements in the field of human rights, including the international pacts on civil and political rights as well as on economic, social and cultural rights", Kazakh Secretary of State - Foreign Affairs Minister Kanat Saudabayev said at the ceremony of presentation. He noted that the Government continued work in that direction and considered the opportunity of ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
"Our state will continue liberalization of the national legislation in accordance with the requirements of the developing society", K. Saudabayev added.
