National carrier 'Air Astana' acquired six new aircrafts - Embraer 190
ALMATY. May 23. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ Six aircrafts 'Embraer 190' have been acquired by the national carrier of Kazakhstan - 'Air Astana'. The aircrafts will allow the company to expand the route network within the CIS countries and Central Asia as well as increasing the number of flights in Kazakhstan.
The representatives of the company made it public at the press conference in Almaty today.
The first aircraft arrived in Almaty on April 30. The plane is already used on the routes within Kazakhstan as well as on the routes linking the cities of Central Asia - Tashkent, Dushanbe, Bishkek and Almaty.
As President of 'Air Astana' Peter Foster said, the size and conform as well as the economical efficiency and maximum flying distance of this plane will be a factor to expand the 'geography' of the flights. Thus, June 2 will be marked with the first flights to the capital of Georgia - Tbilisi and Russian city - Samara.
The plane has 97 seats and two service classes. The maximum flying distance is 4200 km. Besides, the new addition will be used on already existing routes primarily serving the new routes.
According to Peter Foster, the company has carried over 14039696 passengers and completed more than 173224 flights for 9 years of its existence.
