National Bank to provide short-term liquidity to banks in 2010 - B. Sultanov
ASTANA. January 26. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ In 2010 the National Bank of Kazakhstan will provide short-term liquidity to the banking sector in order to ensure financial stability, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov has said at the Government's session in Astana today.
According to the Minister, the National Bank and the Agency for Financial Regulation will take measures on ensuring stability of the financial sector on macro- and micro-levels.
"With the aim of ensuring financial stability the National Bank will provide short-term liquidity to the banking sector of the country adequately to the current situation in real and financial sectors", B. Sultanov noted.
He also added that the Financial Regulation Agency would continue stage-by-stage realization of counter-cycling approach to the process of supervision regarding sufficiency of the second-tier banks' own capital.
