National Bank's net international reserves rose by 10.4% in Jan 2011
ALMATY. February 9. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ Net international reserves of the National Bank of Kazakhstan rose by 10.4% and reached USD 30.6 bln in January 2011. Chairman of the Bank Grigory Marchenko has informed of it at a special press conference in Almaty today.
The last month net currency reserves rose by 12.1%, gold assets decreased by 3.3%. In whole, the international reserves of Kazakhstan including the National Fund's assets in foreign currency rose by 6.3% and made, according to preliminary data, USD 62.6 bln.
Monetary base in January 2011 increased by 2.7% due to growth in net external assets of the National Bank and made KZT 2 641.5 bln. The Bank's narrow monetary base without consideration of urgent deposits in second-tier banks grew by 2.5% having made KZT 2 196.3 bln.
The volume of cash in circulation in December 2010 increased by 6.9% and made KZT 1 148.5 bln. The volume of deposits in the banking system lowered by 0.7% and comprised KZT 7 397.9 bln.
