National Bank of Kazakhstan and China Banking Regulatory Commission ink a memo of understanding
ALMATY. September 30. KAZINFORM - In Beijing there has taken place a ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bank of Kazakhstan and the China Banking Regulatory Commission.
During the signing of the memorandum the head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Grigory Marchenko and Chairman of the Board of China Banking Regulatory Shang Fulin discussed the development of the banking sector in both countries to further strengthen and expand cooperation in the field of banking regulation.
There was also an official meeting of the chairman Grigory Marchenko with People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan. The sides noted the positive dynamics in relations between the two countries in the financial sector and the prospects for their further development. It was noted that one of the promising directions is creating conditions for making payments in the national currencies of Kazakhstan and China.
Marchenko also took part in the Eurasian Economic Forum 2013, which was held in Xi'an. At that forum the chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan spoke on " Attracting foreign direct investment , reform of the pension system, the role of the yuan in the region".
