N.Nigmatulin: TurkPA an effective dialogue platform for Turkic-speaking countries’ cooperation

ASTANA. May 16. KAZINFORM - New aspects of the inter-parliamentary cooperation in the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries have been discussed today in the Majilis by Nurlan Nigmatulin, the Speaker of the House, and Ramil Hasanov, the Assembly Secretary General, the press service of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan reports.

The two sides commended the TurkPA as an effective institution of cooperation between the legislative bodies of Turkic-speaking states.

The Chairman of the Majilis emphasized the historical role of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan, who made an initiative in 2006 on signing the Agreement on TurkPA establishment.

"Today TurkPA is the effective dialogue platform for the Turkic-speaking countries legislative bodies cooperation which interacts with many international parliamentary institutions", said the speaker of the Majlis.

Nurlan Nigmatulin and Ramil Hasanov expressed confidence in further development of the political dialogue between the Turkic states through parliamentary diplomacy as well as the harmonization of the two legislations.

The next fourth session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries will be held in June this year in Ankara (Turkey). The delegation of Kazakh parliamentarians headed by N.Nigmatulin, the Chairman of the Majilis is scheduled to participate in the event.
